A sad, blood stained Elvis wig sits on top of a pile of entrails in the non-recycling bin at the camp site and me and Sammy have just spent a couple of hours picking up scabs from the ladies loos and washing blood from the concrete…

No, it's not some ‘Post Massacre' scene from a Hollywood epic, it's actually the end of Zombie Fest 2008 and once again people came, people ate, drank and were merry before unfortunately dying. Absolutely everyone bit the bullet at the hands of the living dead…

This means that over the past three years… 2 people out of 150 have survived, or at Zombie Fest there is a 1.33% survival rate... Now that's bad… But even worse is a death rate of 98.66 %... (Can you see what I've done there)…

Friday...

Friday involved people arriving, negotiating the large lumps of tarmac and then setting up camp… Unusually the campsite appeared to have become cursed this year with Lee falling off his bike in front of everyone, Mr Collinson scraping his car on the huge, white concrete sign and then Jonty suffering from hip failure and just falling over in the dirt, as if gravity had abandoned him for a while…

Saturday Morning...

Saturday morning involved much in the way of tea drinking and bacon sandwich destroying and this was swiftly followed by underwater archery and shooting… Once again the curse of Cosgrove struck as the rain hammered the site in the middle of August… But then again it did brighten up for the main event….

Saturday Afternoon, Evening and Night... The LRP Bits...

After intros to the various inhabitants of Willard, the ‘guests' headed off to ‘The Last Drop Inn' to sample the local brews and to decide exactly which of the brewing families beers would be used in the quaint, traditional ceremony of blessing Saint Willards stones… As expected things soon went horribly wrong, people started eating each other and Willard Valley was once again filled with bodies, blood and a hell of a lot of zombies…

Sunday Morning and Some Extras...

Woke up, took pain killers, battled the hangover and then tea, tea and more tea, Oh, the bacon, we cooked so much of the bloody stuff we had to give it away at the end… Tonnes of the stuff, in fact so much that I felt guilty about being responsible for the death of so many pigs… So to sort out this guilt I simply had another cup of tea and handed out some prizes…For archery and shooting, but to mention it one last time, no-one survived… So we did hand out a single ‘I almost survived Zombie Fest 2008' certificate… A sad day, when no-one survived to join Todd Winchester and Brian Green in the Survivors Hall of Fame…
