It's that time of year again, when our thoughts go focus on what we are going to do this summer and of course the one word on our minds was… Zombie Fest 2010…
This year event will feature, once again, zombie films, games, shooting and archery with zombie targets and of course, The Zombie Experience…
This years Zombie Experience, is now being set in Nevada, in 1870...
In a little place called New WIllard, built in 1860 to support the railroad as it cut through the state, it never went any further and the building stopped for an unknown reason. No-one has been to the oasis town for ten years. Now, July 1870, a wretched figure clutching a map of New Willard appeared from the desert with a huge nugget of gold and died... now the first train for a decade is being sent back to New Willard… Who will they find? ..and what will be left of them? Last year 50 characters encountered the Horrors of Willard Valley and NO-ONE SURVIVED… This part of the event is LRP (or Live Role Play), which means you take on the role of a character, dress as and act as that character and from there you will encounter a whole nightmare of the living dead! It has a high body count, but if you die, you come back to eat the people that sold you out, or perhaps didn't try their hardest to save you.
For more details on this part of the weekend check out our LRP Section for the basic rules... The Wild West version of the rules will be released and online shortly...
Simple really, you will find out if you would survive…
TIME… Anytime from 3 o'clock...
DATE… 13th to 15th August, 2010
LOCATION… The Quarries Campsite, Cosgrove, Nr. Milton Keynes.
THE PLAN FOR THE WEEKEND…
Friday Night will feature an Introduction to Zombie Fest followed by some zombie films, all shown on a huge cinema quality screen with cinema quality projection equipment, supplied by the Phoenix Arts Centre in Leicester. Following this will be zombie based games and craziness for one and all to get involved with…
Saturday Mornings plan is to have some breakfast and a few gallons of tea and then to blow bits out of some zombie targets on the sites Archery and Shooting ranges, this is amazing fun and will help hone your killing skills for the zombies that are to come later on.
Saturday Lunchtime will involve a Barbecue and general chilling out and getting into costume for the madness to come.
Saturday Afternoon, last year the Zombie Experience lasted for just short of eight hours, fifty out of the fifty characters become zombies and the site was awash with blood! A great time was had by all.
Saturday Night involves drinking, eating and relaxing after the days activities…
Sunday involves getting up, but not too early, breakfast, more tea and then a prize giving ceremony in categories such as best Zombie, worst shot with a bow and arrow and possibly prizes for the survivors…. If anyone makes it this year…
To sum up the weekend, it's crazy, exhausting, loads of fun and of course full to bursting with Zombies.
FOOD AND DRINK…
This is something that last years guest couldn't quite believe… The Everythings a Pound menu… Cold beers, cheese-burgers, chicken-burgers, veggie-burgers and baked potatoes on Saturday night, bacon rolls for breakfast, everything is a pound or less, things like cans of soft drink, tea, coffee and toast are all less than a pound. We also have veggie alternatives for all meals too. Make sure you mention if you are allergic to anything on the form...
We were fed up of going to events and being charged a fiver for a small wet burger and a can of coke… so that why we do this…
ACCOMODATION…
Camping, there are plenty of camping spaces available, the main field, a couple of smaller and probably quieter side areas if you fancy something quieter. When you arrive and check in, you'll be shown where you can camp…
