Monday, August 31st, 2009 from 10am… Leicester Square, London

The opening ceremony will see the living dead warming up for the main events of the day. Take turns carrying and chomping the Olympic brain as we shamble through the streets of London towards the finishing off line where reanimated corpses will be “ready steady gore.” Get to Leicester Square for 10am, all zombied up and ready to go if possible, and then about 11am... The shamble will begin...

Featured Track and congealed events on the day include: 100 metre shambles , Rot foot , Deathacathlon , Body bag race , Brain and spoon race , People chase, Relay of the dead , Hop, skip, triple stump a nd for the freshly turned we have Grimnastics . Regarding fitness levels, remember the slower the brain the better. We're sure you'll be risen to the challenge. To take part simply turn up on the day .

There will be a free zombie picnic – vegetarians catered with. Although taking into account the insatiable appetite of the living dead - Doomed to Consume - extra entrails will be gratefully guzzled.

This is a charity event. All donations received on the day will go to the British Heart Foundation. Information will also be available throughout the day on how to give blood, and on don o r cards.
